More honours for the London Majors 2026 season
Four London Majors players have won Gold Gloves in the inaugural season of the Canadian Baseball League.
Pitcher Travis Keys, first baseman Trent Lenihan, second baseman Cristian Inoa and outfielder Jarrett Burney were all honoured for their work in the field.
Burney was new to the outfield after spending his career as an infielder, but the native of Suwanee, Ga., certainly didn’t show it.
He posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage and made the Majors’ highlight reels more than once.
One of those plays was a home run he pulled back against the Barrie Baycats.
Lenihan committed just two errors all season at first base and took part in 27 double plays. He was also London’s nominee for Top Canadian in the CBL’s first year after hitting .386 with 10 home runs.
Inoa joined the Majors in June. He teamed with CBL MVP Maikol Escotto to form one of the best middle infields in the league, and posted a .976 fielding percentage.
Keys starred on the mound with an 8-3 record and 57 strikeouts. He also showed off his athleticism on balls in play, finishing the year with a perfect fielding percentage.
London went 31-17 in 2026, good for a three-way tie for first place with Hamilton and Welland.
The Hamilton Cardinals won the tiebreaker. The Majors then lost in the opening round of the playoffs to the Welland Jackfish, the eventual Dominico Cup champions.
